Artist Bio

Emily Elizabeth Creasey is a contemporary painter and educator based in Orlando, Florida. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Creasey spent nine years living and working in Canada, relocating to Calgary, Alberta, in 2015 to pursue her higher education. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2020.

Creasey’s studio practice primarily investigates portraiture and figurative painting as a site for emotional processing, mindfulness, and psychological exploration. Deeply invested in the concept of empathy, her work utilizes a structured, therapeutic approach to color theory and journaling to document and translate internal states onto the canvas. In addition to self-portraiture, she frequently documents friends, loved ones, and companion animals as an expression of profound empathy and interconnectedness.

After establishing her practice in Calgary—where she also designed community-centered therapeutic arts programming—Creasey returned to her home state of Florida. She currently balances her personal studio practice with her work as a certified K-12 art educator, fulfilling her lifelong mission of fostering wellness and self-expression through art-making.
